Welcome to the new Corvus Advisors, LLC website.  My hope is that the information you may glean directly or indirectly through dealing with Corvus Advisors will help you compete more effectively in what author Jack Stack so appropriately named some time ago, “The Great Game of Business.”  Not unlike this year’s Super Bowl, today’s game of business requires an integrated set of skills and processes to be successful.  First of all, we need a clear, long term plan which let’s everyone know where they fit in the big picture and how they can help the team win.  It’s important for everyone to  visualize where they fit in not only today, but also next quarter, next year and five years from now.  Next it’s necessary to develop a well designed set of tactics to execute the plan; a “play-book” if you will.  Lastly, we need solid, well trained “athletes” that can execute the tactics and aggressively drive the metrics.  The right mix of leadership for all of this stems from the proper blend of experienced industry veterans matched with new talent that brings fresh ideas regarding potential new opportunities or creative approaches to our old problems.   If a team can craft a sensible long term plan, drive it with the appropriate tactics and metrics while recruiting and retaining the best possible talent, they can then move with the speed necessary to compete in the difficult economic environment that we are experiencing today.
